Artist Julia Sinelnikova’s latest solo exhibition, Rootkit, opened on Friday, January 12th, at Superchief Gallery in Brooklyn. The installation is an immersive cyberpunk environment comprised of projected GIFs and other visuals mixed with sounds in a so-called “metaverse” made of mylar and other materials designed and built to make a visitor feel as if they’re in some sort of sci-fi world. Throughout the show’s run, the artist is curating various performances and experiences to help bring the exhibition to life for visitors. Photographer Jeanette D. Moses was at the opening reception to capture the night’s unique visuals. Visit the gallery between now and February 9th to see it for yourself.
