Drag Queen Story Hour is a series of events in which, as the name suggests, drag queens read stories to children. Meant to present positive queer role models for children at an age during which ideas about gender are less rigid, the events take place at libraries, schools, bookstores and other venues in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and elsewhere. Photographer Edwina Hay attended a recent event at the Park Church Co-op in Brooklyn featuring Rev. Yolanda. For information about their many other upcoming events, check out the organization’s event page.
