This week on the Daily Beat: We’re joined by professor and author Dr. Baz Dreisinger who discusses the American prison system and its myriad of flaws. Later in the week, Mariame Kaba joins the show to talk about contemporary activism for social justice.

Mariame Kaba is an organizer, educator, and curator. She’s the founder and director of Project NIA among many other organizations and programs, and is a 2016 Soros Justice Fellow. She’s currently organizing with a group called Survived and Punished, and also runs the blog Prison Culture.
