Hey everyone! Welcome back to another episode of The Music Meetup (formerly known as Discovery Corner).
This week’s episode is really exciting, because we not only chatted with Dylan Sheehan, aka Ruth Carp of Australian band Ruth Carp & The Fish Heads, a few weeks ago about spiders, bears, music making, and all kinds of crazy stuff, but we also are PREMIERING their newest album Can Men Like Us Go To Heaven?
That’s right! You can only hear the whole thing right here! What more could you ask for?!
Ruth Carp & The Fish Heads creates heartbreakingly-relatable head bangers that are a perfect soundtrack for a night of tequila shots. They take a psych-rock approach and melodically add dark undertones of punk and garage. Their newest album Can Men Like Us Go To Heaven? is the follow up to the band’s 2015 debut EP, It’s This Or The Noose , that has been described as the chicest of heroin chic music.
BTRtoday caught them play in Brooklyn back in the end of March and the show was all sorts of hazy-craziness with lots of tequila shots, dancing, and rule breaking. All of their songs relate to some sort of substance abuse or downer in life, but they serve it to you with their drinks raised up high!
Be the first to listen to their newest album Can Men Like Us Go To Heaven? and hear a chat with Ruth Carp himself, here on this week’s episode of The Music Meetup–also, make sure to check out the written feature on Ruth Carp & The Fish Heads to learn all about these alcoholic hooligans!
